ALPI believes breastfeeding and lactation saves lives. ALPI is a socially-focused professional association providing lactation services, partnering with other breastfeeding-supportive organizations, promoting skilled lactation care and protecting breastfeeding in India. Every family in India deserves the opportunity to achieve their family's goals. Breastfeeding a child in the first hour and exclusively for the first 6 months reduces neo-natal and infant mortality, reduces the risks of early infections, and ultimately gives the child the best start to life. ALPI is addressing the barriers to breastfeeding and lactation on many levels and is providing solutions to ensure every woman, child and family the best start through evidenced based education, training and lactation consultation.
